Coturnix, also called Japanese Quail, are one of the most productive and beginner-friendly gamebirds available. They are fast-growing, early-laying, and easy to raise in either colony pens or individual cages. Our birds are selected from a wide range of non-standard colour varieties, including English White, Tuxedo, Tibetan, Snowflake, and Platinum, with a diverse mix of attractive egg colours ranging from speckled to blue-gray.

Coturnix reach full maturity by 6 weeks of age, begin laying shortly after, and can produce over 250 eggs annually under proper conditions. They also are a decent table bird, being easy to process and producing flavourful meat.

They are docile by nature, easy to handle, and entertaining to observe.

Coturnix are excellent for both egg and meat production, and also make rewarding additions to backyard setups and aviaries.

These birds are not pinioned, and can fly.
