At The Yoo Zoo, we have a lively and ever-growing herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats. What started with just two goats quickly multiplied — because as any goat owner will tell you, goat math is real and you can never have just a few!
Why Nigerian Dwarf Goats?
These goats are mischievous little rascals with big personalities in small packages. They’re endlessly curious, clever, and full of energy. Despite their antics, they make wonderful pets, especially for families with children. Their small size and gentle nature make them approachable and manageable for kids who want to interact with farm animals safely.
More Than Just Cute
Our Nigerian Dwarfs aren’t just cute – they also serve an important role on the farm. They’re natural weed controllers, munching on invasive plants and shrubs that other livestock avoid. Sometimes we’ll have them tied out in the yard as part of our natural landscaping crew, keeping the brush in check without chemicals or machinery.
Milk with a Difference
In addition to being fun and functional, Nigerian Dwarf goats are renowned for their exceptional milk production. Their milk is rich, creamy, and has a higher butterfat content (6-10%) compared to other goat breeds. This makes it especially prized for:
