Welsh Harlequins are a highly productive, dual-purpose light duck breed that consistently lay between 290–320 eggs per year. These hatching eggs come from exhibition-type birds selected for temperament, laying ability, and breed type.

A standout feature of this breed is that the ducklings are autosexable at hatch with ~95% accuracy by bill colour—females have a lighter bill with a dark tip, while males have a uniformly dark bill. This makes early sexing practical and efficient.
